What does an alternator do?
The alternator is a major component of your vehicle's charging system. While your engine is running, the alternator recharges your battery and supplies electricity to your vehicle's electrical systems.

If your alternator is starting to die you may notice a few key warning signs that you should not take lightly including: dim dashboard lights, dim headlights, a warning light on your dash, a weak or dead battery, the smell of burning rubber, a grinding or whining noise, or cracks and wear in a belt connected to the alternator.
