2020 Ford Edge

The 2020 Ford Edge is available in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST. The standard trim has features that can only be added as options for many other similar vehicles, such as 18-inch alloy wheels, along with an impressive list of driver aids and connectivity options. Higher trims bring more color options and exterior additions like a hands-free liftgate and a noise-reducing front window.

The standard engine for all Ford Edge trims except the ST is a 250 horsepower 4-cylinder engine that's capable of producing op to 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, paired with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The engine on the top ST trim is a powerful twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. Most 2020 Ford Edge SUVs on the road will be equipped with the standard 250 horsepower engine, but that should be enough for the vast majority of drivers. It manages to push the Edge to a speed of 60 miles per hour from a complete standstill in only 7.5 seconds, a very good time for a car this size. However, considering this is an SUV, the most relevant performance indicators are comfort and versatility, with the Ford passing both with flying colors.

All infotainment functions are handled via an 8-inch touch screen display, with the help of Ford's excellent Sync 3 interface. There are also physical buttons and voice commands available, keeping the driver's eyes firmly on the road ahead. Smartphone connectivity is simple, with the help of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and USB ports. The Edge also has its own standard 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
