Ford's innovative Phone as a Key technology offers a new level of convenience and security, turning your smartphone into your car key. This feature allows Ford vehicle owners to unlock, start, and operate their vehicle without ever needing a traditional key. What is the Phone as a Key Feature?
Phone as a Key is a feature available through the FordPass app that utilizes your smartphone to control access to your Ford vehicle. By pairing your phone with your vehicle's onboard system, you can perform all the functions of a traditional key fob directly from your phone. This includes locking and unlocking the doors, starting the engine, and even adjusting personal settings inside the vehicle.
The Phone As A Key feature allows you to turn your phone into a key fob with the FordPass App and set up a maximum of four keys per vehicle. Your phone must be within Bluetooth®*** Low Energy (BLE) Range (between 30-50 meters). The passive entry range is within two meters.
You will be able to control the following, in addition to your Remote Commands:
- Windows Up
- Windows Down
- Horn & Lights
- Frunk
- Trunk
